Martial law: This time 40 years ago

On Sept. 21, 2012, Filipinos marked the 40th anniversary of martial law, which heralded nearly 14 years of a dictatorship that killed thousands and jailed and tortured tens of thousands more.
But did you know that martial law was declared on Sept. 23, not Sept. 21 as popularly believed? -
